About

The Short:

After navigating the roller coaster that resulted from the unexpected end of my 20-year relationship (when I Googled “How to not F up your kids in divorce”) 10 weeks before COVID began, I decided I wanted to help other single moms with ADHD ride the roller coaster with their hands in the air and rise up from the ashes like a phoenix.

The Long:

My parents were married 37 years when my dad passed, so I knew nothing about divorce. And looking around, I didn’t see any great examples of single moms thriving. Most of what I saw in real life or on TV was stress, struggle, and survival mode. It looked awful, and I knew I didn’t want that to be MY story.

I realized quickly, I was going to need to create and be my own example.  I made the decision to choose my own adventure and be my own hero.

Then COVID hit, and during this unprecedented time alone with no kids ½ the time and not seeing other humans, I researched, read, and listened to books, podcasts, and friends trying to make sense of divorce, single parenting, and dating in middle age, while also figuring out a new career I didn’t hate.

After listening to the book, 5 Regrets of the Dying, I thought more about my life from my deathbed point of view – and how I would want MY life story to look from the end.

I knew I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life mad at my ex and arguing, so I began to think about what was in my control to create that reality. I knew I wanted my kids to feel the least amount of impact possible from the divorce. I wanted them to feel fully loved and wanted by both parents, to feel they could always be themselves and talk openly about the other parent, and that they never had to ‘choose’ between us in a situation.

Yes, my fairy tale took a MAJOR turn in a direction I did NOT want or dream of, but I realized the faster I accepted what my reality IS real right NOW, not wishing for the past or something different, the faster I can move forward and begin creating a new life. I am the author of this story. NOBODY else.

In my story I decided to show my kids how to be resilient, how to find silver linings even in the toughest storms, and to embrace life’s uncertainties with a sense of adventure and curiosity, while also embracing and loving the kindest version of ourselves, just as we are.  I am DEFINITELY NOT saying I or we do these things all the time. Haha! But these are the targets.

We’re several years into divorceland now, and I am SO proud of my kids, myself, and even my ex (sometimes 😉 for: learning to take things as they come, having gratitude for all that we have and not feeling lack for what we do not, and trying to lead with kindness but not beat ourselves up when we do not, and remembering this too shall pass, as my grandma always said.

I have learned so much on this journey – about divorce, dating, navigating co-parenting and solo parenting, the importance of friends, community, and having fun. I am very passionate about helping other mamas who are struggling to find their way.

Career Background:

I spent the majority of my career helping clients in the federal and state governments as a consultant helping them solve big problems by creating strategies collaboratively. Uncovering where they really are now, defining where they want to go, and creating a plan to get there.

After feeling the pull for many years to help people on a more personal level, I left my consulting career in May 2024 to finally pursue my calling to focus on helping women and moms define their own life strategy and plan – specifically single moms with ADHD.

I want to help them choose their own life story for themselves AND their kids.

I obtained a coaching certification from an ICF-accredited organization which reinforced the years of coaching I’ve been doing with colleagues, clients, and friends for decades.
